This place is great! Sam was very hospitable and the mead was excellent! I would highly recommend anyone to visit and enjoy the tasty options!

We visited Texas Mead Works the Hye location and it was such a nice experience! The building itself was very beautiful and had a nice scenic view. The staff was very welcoming and made great conversation with us from the start. This was my first time trying mead and I really enjoyed it, we had a nice tasting of five and I chose strawberry, spiced orange, macadamia nut, and ogre’s blood. All really great flavors, each with their own unique taste and sweetness. My husband and I also bought a bottle of the Dark Wizard and received a free bottle of wine with our purchase! If you are planning to do a mead tasting I would recommend stopping by Mead Works! They also supply the Texas Renaissance Festival and you can try their delicious mead there too!

They have great meads here, I recommend a tasting to see what kind you like. My favorite is the raspberry.

This was one of our favorite spots in Fredericksburg on our weekend vacation. We saw the sign for mead and knew we had to stop! This location is also shared with the Blue Lotus Winery. I did a mead tasting while my husband did a wine tasting. We really enjoyed it! We got to pick 5 to try for $15. This was a fabulous value, and we were table to sit and take our time with each tasting. I greatly enjoyed the mead and my husband thought the wine was great. They also have a few mead options on tap, and if I lived in the area I would definitely be returning regularly to fill a growler. My favorite mead was the Dark Wizard, which I bought a bottle to take home to enjoy later. We also each got a glass of their Outcast mead on tap. It was cold and refreshing while we sat on their back porch with a nice view and where we could watch the hummingbirds at the hummingbird feeders in their garden. Their seating area inside and outside is nice. And Sam, the wonderful lady who served us, gave exceptional service! Even when a big bus tour group came through, she came to check on us to make sure we were still taken care of. We will definitely return here next time we're in the area!

This is my second time trying out Texas Mead Works but my 1st time at their Hye location. The wines were delicious 😋 my favorite was the Jalapeños wine! It was sweet & then hot 🔥 loved it!

The batista that helped us, Pam, was so welcoming and friendly. She was honestly amazing and made our visit amazing!! If they weren't out of the outcast we would have loved to take a bunch home with us, we will be ordering online.

Super cool! It’s definitely not as fancy as most of the wineries on the highway, but that’s exactly what we liked about it. Lots of different flavors. They’re working on building up a cool backyard too.

Stopped in to try some mead. You get to taste five meads for $15. Each pour of the traditional mead is roughly 1 oz,, the carbonated sessionable meads are about 2 oz. They had a pretty wide selection to try, and all the ones I had were good. Note that some of their mead is available at Total Wine and at a significantly lower price than at this location.

Dan had a great knowledge and was able to juggle my group of 10 while giving us a pleasant experience. Jokester and kind man. The site is cozy and has a pleasant view. Would highly recommend to make a stop in and say hi to Dan. The wines on tap were very smooth and sweet. Not a bad wine that I tasted here, wether dry or sweet.

Beautiful ranch with onsite barrell tasting bar. Very nice woman (Melissa) working there, who knew all about the products they sell. The meads were exquisite and we had to load up while there, but they also have delivery to your home as well if you are so inclined. We plan to stop by here on all our trips to Frederickburg. Highly recommend visiting here if you want to taste the best mead around (mead IU s like wine but made from honey, very smooth taste).

What an exciting stop! Located in the Blue Lotus winery is this little Meadery gem. For only $15 we got to try 5 meads from a big selection. There were some delicious traditional meads, some fruit meads, some sparkling meads, hopped meads, even some boozy high ABV meads! The service was fantastic and the place is great. It was 100F outside and nice and cool on the inside. I love all the little garden gnomes around the building too. Once you've tasted all your meads you just take a step to the right and start a wine tasting from the Blue Lotus Winery, because it's the same awesome place! Two tasting places in one!!!! And you get to keep the tasting glass!!
