We loved the Cab Franc, Cab Sav, and Merlot. This is the best winery we visited in Fredericksburg by far. If you prefer old world wine, this should be your starting point in Fredericksburg.

We camped for the eclipse and had the most wonderful time here. Everyone is so welcoming, from the staff to the regulars to Ron himself. We felt like family from the minute we walked into the tasting room. We did a tasting Sunday when we got there so we had a few favorites picked out when we ordered by the glass or bottle at the party Monday. They were always willing to give you a splash to help you decide too! The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful and the wine is good! The Tempranillo, Pinot Noir and Amalgamation blend were a few standouts!

Stopped in late afternoon on our way from Houston to Fredericksburg and I'm very glad we did. I had researched a number of wineries in the area in preparation for a two-week long car trip. Ron Yates stood out as high-quality for a good price, innovative, flexible, and friendly as heck. While there are pre-established tasting menus here, we were able to customize a bit. I was especially enamored of the "Pet Nat," Champagne's wild cousin, that is the buzz in parts of the wine world and the Rhone Valley styles they make.

All of the wines we tasted were varied, true to style, and delicious. My tastes run "Old World," while my wife's are more "New" and we found plenty for both of us to love. I had a bad experience the next day at a large, exclusive membership-driven place in Fredericksburg that has Ron Yates stand out all the more as a true gem. It's sad that they do not ship to New Mexico but when I am back in the area, I am sure to sip for a while on their welcoming patio and take as much back as I can carry.

Love Ron Yates Winery. We were coming in from Houston and we were not able to get there until 5:45. I know they close at 6, but Barry was so gracious that he served us a glass of wine and I was able to purchase a couple of my favorite bottles of wine. (We didn’t over stay our welcome knowing that they were closing and they have families to go home to). Thanks again, Barry! Great place!!

Wonderful wines and excellent folks. This was about the best wine we had in our week of Wine Country (and that’s saying a lot. Texas wine is one of the best kept secrets)

One of our go to wineries. They have a wide selection to match most people’s palette. It is a must stop for us whenever we are in town. The staff is awesome always as well.

This was the first time to Ron Yates Winery and loved the consistency and quality throughout their varietals- from high plains fruit to California vines. I would rate them excellent. As a matter of personal taste, Grenache Rose’ is the best of all rose’. But Yates 2019 (dry) Tempranillo and 2019 Cab were right up there. I absolutely loved their 2019 OE Carignan. Angela was knowledgeable and basically awesome.

Such a great winery for a drop in! Very dog friendly!! We worked with Angela for most of our time and it was great to try their different rose’s and other offerings before we bought a bottle. Definitely worth your time if dropping in with your furry beloved. Our favorite was the 2022 Cinsault pet bay, a bubbly rose, perfect for these hot temps!!

We came in to the tasting room after hearing about the Houston Rodeo named their Tempranillo a double gold winner. We had a tasting of 8 wines by a taster and Ron Yates himself which was really nice. Being in the wine business, I have had a lot of really good wine from all over the world. Their wine seems to stack up, especially for Texas wine.
The staff were all very inviting and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend visiting the winery and tasting their wines!
