Pontotoc Vineyard Weingarten is located in a charming cottage with an authentic weinkeller in a stone walled courtyard. Just like the heurigen of Vienna, Austria, the weingarten offers a cozy and inviting setting for families to enjoy a delightful picnic of delicious local cuisine and wine. Pontotoc Vineyard is owned and operated by a 5th generation Texas farming family who is proud to provide you with the fruits of our labor for your table in the form of fine Texas wines. We are pleased to offer a variety of options for guests to enjoy at The Weingarten including wine flights, glasses, and bottles of wine, as well as our delightful Pontotoc Picnic Baskets.

Very family friendly space. I cannot say enough great things about their picnic basket food!! Omg!! Their cookies, pimento cheese spread, pecans, brownies absolutely delicious!!!!!!

Absolutely delightful visit. The environment is friendly, relaxing and fun. Josie provided a great explanation of the wines she poured and gave us a history of the vineyard. Really impressive that all the grapes used are harvested in the Hill Country. Don't pass up this quaint place. Well worth a visit.

Was worried when they moved locations because I loved the other so much, but the new location is just as good! Lovely wine and even lovelier staff. I would recommend wholeheartedly.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely loved this winery! The sangria is hands down some of the best I've ever had—fresh, flavorful, and incredibly refreshing. The rosé was light and crisp, and the Tempranillo was smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced. Every wine we tried was excellent! And the bittersweet brownies? Absolutely amazing! They were the perfect sweet pairing with the wine and worth trying all on their own. Between the outstanding wines, delicious treats, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly staff, this was an unforgettable experience. We can't wait to come back and will definitely be recommending this winery to friends and family!

I don't think I've ever had a bad rose, unfortunately this place came pretty close. I don't know if it was off, but it tasted more like beer. The sangria was pleasant but tasted more like lemonade. Cute room with a split a/c, but I would not spend time outside for their drinks as they aren't anything good.

What a gem! This family-owned vineyard is a true hidden treasure. The hosts were warm, gracious, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their storytelling added such a personal touch. You can feel the passion and history in every word. And the wine? Absolutely delicious. Each glass was full of character, clearly crafted with care and love. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a meaningful and memorable wine experience. We'll definitely be back!

We have two teenagers and the last couple of years many of the wineries in this area only welcome 21+ only. This is crazy, we have been bringing our children to wineries since they were babies. My husband and I would always sit outside with a glass of wine; playing cards, chatting with our kids, and admiring the view. I called many of the wineries we had enjoyed in the past and they told us teenagers were not welcome anymore, and that is how I ended up calling Pontotoc Weingarten. I had never heard of them, but they said families were welcome and we decided to check them out. It was a little difficult to locate their Weingarten at first as they are tucked away between 2 larger buildings, but we had no problem finding parking right across the street. I have family from Germany and have visited the country many times, and Pontotoc reminded me of a Weingarten in a small German town. Pontotoc is right off Main St. but didn’t feel like it because of the thick rock walls surrounded the garden. There were plenty of places to sit outside and the small building and location was absolutely lovely. The owner was amazing and suggested the sangria which we tried and it was delicious! I don’t like sweet drinks, but this sangria was very subtly sweetened and had hints of orange and lemon. The wine we tried was also wonderful. This has been my favorite place to visit for wine in Fredericksburg and we will be back. I can’t wait to try their picnic basket! The best part of the experience was being able to have our teenage boys warmly welcomed. If you want a romantic place to bring your date or a relaxing outside location to sit and visit with your family, make sure you visit Pontotoc Weingarten!

Really enjoyed our time having wine at Pontotoc. The monastrell was my favorite wine during our Fredericksburg stay. Bought a bottle of monastrell and port. The gentleman serving us was great. Beautiful place.

My party and I enjoyed this place from start to finish. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. We shared the picnic basket. The pimento cheese changed my view of pimento cheese. It was so delicious. The wine flights and sangria is a must.

Don't miss this amazing establishment! The building is original to downtown; old, beautiful, cozy, with a small indoor space, a cellar open for seating, and a large outdoor area. We sat inside and were served by the utterly delightful Karen. Such a sweet heart! She was so knowledgeable about the wines and the history of the vineyard. We enjoyed talking with her and other guests who were visiting the tasting room. To start with, we sampled the rose, the Sangria, and 3 reds. Sangria lovers run to this place for the most refreshing Sangria you will ever taste. And don't miss the rose! So delicious and smooth. (I left with 2 bottles of it! Ha!) YES they have food but not just store bought food thrown on a plate! The "Pincic Basket" is all homemade and frankly out of this world delicious! The best pimento cheese ever! Homemade sourdough bread, sugared pecans, and sea salt chocolate chip cookie to die for! No joke! Don't deny your taste buds! (See attached picture of the "picnic basket.") Thank you, Karen, for being a part of our fabulous and tasty experience at Pontotac. We will be stopping by on our way out of town on Sunday for more bottles to take home with us!

Stopped in for two sangrias as recommended by my coworker. So yummy! It’s in a cute little old home run by a family I believe. Chase was helpful in recommending things along Main and sending us off with cute plastic mason jar cups. Also have seating in the cellar if you want. $9/cup! No signage inside though, so without having the recc I wouldn’t have known what they offered or prices.

I loved everything about this Weingarten! From the excellent wine flight & tasty Sangria inside their quaint tasting room to the authentic German nibbles and atmosphere. This is not a pretentious place (our experience of some other FXBG establishments) it's welcoming and the service is genuine. The location on main competes well with any others but after returning home and researching the Potontoc vineyard and Money Family, their story is remarkable! This unplanned stop before dinner made for a special wedding Anniversary.

This is a family run business, super cute, chill and very friendly people. The kids and youngsters are welcoming and treating the customers with the sweetest and most professional manner, which are the cutest thing. The wine tasting flight is good! Very unique flavours, balanced, not too strong, great for the summer. The star of the show was the sangria! Oh my world it was something else - somehow they made a sangria with an explosion of fruity freshness. The best I ever had so far!
