Let me first start out saying that our server Kaden did an outstanding job and would recommend asking for him when you go. The food, beer, and wine were very good and portions were generous. Check them out when you are in town next time.

The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere felt genuinely authentic. Our waitress Annette was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.

Walked in & were seated immediately. Our server Wyatt got our dog a big bowl of ice and water. Oh wait, we got big glasses of water as well!! This place is 110% dog friendly! (Keep them close & under control) We ordered drinks, Bier for me & a prosecco for her.
My wife ordered the hot pretzel, it came with beer cheese and mustard. It was perfectly cooked & salted.
We were pleased with how the staff kept the 3 of us hydrated.
The food/portion size is NO joke here!!!!
Come hungry or go somewhere else!!!
My wife ordered the curry wurst, I ordered the zwiebelschnitzel(yea try that sober).
Our meals arrived on time & again perfectly!!!
I spent time in Germany while I was in the USAF & this brings me back to very pleasant memories of actually eating in Germany.
Please keep up the great work & clone Wyatt because he is the type of staff member who keeps people coming back after an initial visit!

My husband took me and our daughters here for my birthday. The hostess was complimentary and friendly. Our server, Annette, was German and that added to the experience. She was attentive and helpful as well. Our good was good. I started with an Empress Lavender Lemon drink from the bar. Superb. My pretzel was delicious alone as well as with the grainy mustard and beer cheese. My meatloaf came with spaetzel and broccoli I. The meatloaf was a little bland but the broccoli I was divine and the spaetzel, I didn't have a bar set so it was interesting. The sauce could have had more flavor, but I liked the texture of the noodles. My oldest daughter loved the French fries and both took home leftovers from their kids meal. We were too full for dessert, but I'd love to come back and try some. Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing evening celebrating my special day.

We stopped here by coincidence and only had to wait 10 min or less for a table (not bad for a Sunday around 1pm). We ordered the König Breakfast, the Wurst Platte and the apple strudel for dessert, food was amazing. The service was awesome! our server Anette was very kind and attentive. The atmosphere was perfect for us, we preferred to be outside because there was live music. I would go back and recommend this restaurant 🫶🏼

We walked down Main Street until we found Altdorf Biergarten which was the only authentic German cuisine restaurant open in the middle of the week. This was definitely a good choice. From the outside it has great atmosphere where looked like been here for ever. The inside was just the same old and explorative. Our waitress seemed like she was from Germany which added to the ambiance of the place.

I ordered the Wienerschnitzel like the menu stated topped with house pickled onion, capers and fresh lemon, served with rotkohl and spatzle. I also had to get a German beer to compete the experience. The Wienerschnitzel was extremely good and enjoyed it very much. It was also fun to walk around to see what else this place had to offer.

The food was great. I especially liked the pickled cabbage. The bacon based sauce for the schnitzel was superb. Our waiter did disappear during our dinner and did not offer refills until we were ready to leave which is why I rated the service 4 stars.

My wife and I had a great time here. She drank a locally brewed dark beer while I drank some Warsteiner Dunkel. Both were ice cold and very tasty. We sat outside of the main restaurant in the separate bar area that is just adjacent to the outside seating area. This was a good place to be, very close to the beer taps, and we enjoyed conversing with the bartender and patrons. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. We both ordered the wurst plate to eat, with three different sausages plus sauerkraut, German potato salad, and some pickles. My wife substituted red cabbage for her sauerkraut just because. All of the food was tasty, cooked and prepared well, and was served warm to our spot. We sat outside to order food and eat as it had been raining some when we first arrived and had finally stopped just before we decided to eat. The pictures were taken outside in front of a mural painted on their wall by an obviously talented artist.

Schnitzel temperature was just medium warm and not hot and they served it within almost seconds of my sitting down so seemed like they had already cooked it earlier and had it sitting around waiting.

The mushroom sauce had barely any mushroom flavor and it was supposed to have wild
mushrooms But I didn't see any in my sauce. I had a really good Warsteiner premium Dunkel draft beer that definitely went a long way towards softening this review😂.

Beautiful stone patio with wonderful wood furniture surrounded by stone and rod iron fencing.

My husband (then-boyfriend) was stationed in Germany for 4 years and I visited a few months one summer. The food here was the most authentic of the 3 places we tried this weekend. The weinerschnitzel was so crispy and tender at the same time. The flavor of the cabbage was not overwhelming. Everything was a great balance. This place also had the best spaetzel of the three places. Service wasn’t bad at all, but it could have been better. There were no utensils or salt/pepper at our table when they brought our food. We ordered desert to-go and they didn’t include utensil either. Nonetheless, I’d come here again for sure.

Me and my sister went on a Sunday. It was cold and rainy. The atmosphere was delightful but it was a little chilly in the restaurant. Annette was our server and we couldn't ask for better service. I ordered a sausage on a pretzel bun with french fries. It came with pickled cucumbers which were delicious and caramelized onions and a sweet mustard. That was delicious too.
My sister ordered the goulash and spatzel along with a German beer that she said was delicious.
We ended up sitting in the bar speaking to the bartender. She told us about the different types of German beer they offered. We had an enjoyable time at Altdorf. Will go again and would highly recommend this establishment.

What a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious, the peach old fashioned was amazing! The music and atmosphere was so relaxing and our server Aaron was spot on with recommendations (esp the old fashioned). He was friendly, attentive and professional. This will be our go to in Fredericksburg for authentic German food!

Oh my gosh, what a gem we found! I hadn't had any German food in years and I had a massive craving. Boy am I glad we found this place. Not only is it so cool with its beautiful historical building and preserving of the well that you can look down into, but also the food is amazing. Our server was even german! We enjoyed every bite. Best caprese I've ever had--the roasted garlic was an unexpected delicious touch. Very reasonable prices too. Great value. We will be back!
