Tres Molinos Ranch began as a family ranch in Harper, TX, outside of Fredericksburg. The family has resided on the Ranch for almost a century. The family embarked on the construction of Tres Molinos Ranch & Resort's Events Center and B&B in 2017. Tres Molinos Ranch and Resort offers a wide range of activities to cater to all guests. There are plenty of activities for couples to enjoy, such as horseback rides, camping and star gazing, hiking, fishing, archery, shooting range, equestrian clinics, and more. We provide high-end lodging options for visitors who prefer the convenience of having fully equipped kitchens.

We had such an amazing experience at the ranch during our anniversary trip to Fredericksburg! ❤️🐴

The staff was so welcoming, kind, and patient with me, especially because I had a HUGE fear of horseback riding. I was honestly nervous about getting on a horse, but they took their time with me, reassured me, and never made me feel rushed or uncomfortable. That meant so much to me!

The horses were absolutely beautiful, gentle, well-tamed, and clearly well cared for. They made the experience so much easier and more enjoyable for someone like me who was terrified at first.

By the end of the ride, I was so proud of myself for facing my fear, and I’m so grateful that the staff helped make that possible. What started as something I was scared to do turned into one of the most memorable parts of our anniversary trip.

Thank you to the entire staff for making us feel so welcome and for giving us such a wonderful experience. We made memories that we’ll never forget! ❤️

If you’re visiting Fredericksburg, I highly recommend checking this ranch out. We would absolutely come back! 🐴❤️

I was incredibly impressed with this ranch! We were visiting from Michigan, and I called just two days before we wanted to ride. The owner answered on the second ring, which was a pleasant surprise—especially after having a hard time getting anyone to answer the phone elsewhere in Texas. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and immediately knew what times were available for the day we wanted to ride.

This was my first time riding a horse for an extended period, and I absolutely loved every minute of it. Our daughters, ages 9 and 6, haven’t stopped talking about the experience since. It was hands down the best excursion of our entire trip and worth every penny.

Crystal and Peyton were amazing guides. They were so patient, knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable from start to finish. I also loved learning that the ranch has been in the same family for over 100 years. That history made the experience even more special.

The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. I took thousands of photos and videos, and I still can’t stop looking at them. My husband and I got back to our hotel late that night, and he was awake at 2:00 a.m. watching all the videos again because we just couldn’t get enough of the experience!

We enjoyed it so much that we’re already talking about coming back in November for our anniversary—and next time we’d love to stay overnight.

I can’t recommend this ranch enough. If you’re considering horseback riding, this is the place to go. It was an unforgettable experience that we’ll cherish for years to come!

My stay at Tres Molinos Ranch was absolutely fantastic. The ranch itself is stunning, and the rooms are beautifully designed, comfortable, and full of character. Its secluded location makes it the perfect place to disconnect, relax, and truly enjoy the peaceful Texas Hill Country.

What made my experience even more special were the hosts, Krystal and Patrick. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and were incredibly kind and accommodating throughout our stay. When bad weather forced the cancellation of one of our horseback rides—and we were supposed to leave the following day—they kindly rearranged the schedule so we could still enjoy the experience. We truly appreciated their flexibility and genuine hospitality.

I highly recommend Tres Molinos Ranch to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable getaway. I would definitely love to come back if I have the chance!

I stayed at Tres Molinos for a weekend with my daughter on our way to drop her off at summer camp, and it turned into such a special experience for both of us.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable, but what really made the trip stand out was the people. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you could tell they genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. A big thank you to Payton, who went out of her way to make my daughter feel special the entire time—it really meant a lot. We also went fishing with Payton and Patrick, and they were fantastic. Patrick was especially helpful, making sure we had everything we needed and that we actually caught some fish.
We did the sunset horseback riding, which was a highlight, and spent time exploring the property. We rented an ATV and had a great time roaming around and seeing all the different animals. Between the farm animals, the exotic animals, and the overall setting, there was always something interesting to do.
Also, a special thanks to Crystal for helping coordinate everything and making the whole experience seamless.
It was the perfect way to spend quality time together before camp, and we left with some great memories.

Can’t recommend this place enough. My wife and I stayed in our RV and did the horseback riding experience. We expressed interest in a hands on ranch experience and we pretty much helped him with some tasks that needed to be done. This involved caring for the cows and horses as well as searching the ranch for a wounded animal that needed veterinary care. Patrick also brought us into the arena to practice loping/galloping and gave us riding tips.

The event space is really nice too and would be a great place to spend an evening with family while staying on the ranch or even to hold a private event.

Lastly, before we arrived, they were very responsive via text with some last minute questions.

Next time I’m back in Texas I’d like to come back to the ranch and spend more time!

We visited Patrick's ranch to try out gun shooting. Patrick greeted us warmly right from the start, and he spent plenty of time with us. On the drive to the shooting range, Patrick told us a lot about his ranch and the animals that live there. After a brief introduction, we were able to try out the different guns. We had great conversations with Patrick and learned a lot about Texas and the surrounding area. An absolute highlight for us!
A big thank you to Patrick🙏🏻. We will definitely come again.

Our stay at Tres Molinos - Hill Country Ranch & Resort was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Patrick and Krys, who made us feel right at home. The ranch’s serene beauty, vast open spaces, and peaceful atmosphere were beyond description—truly a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

One of the highlights of our trip was the incredible horseback ride with Patrick and Krys. The trail was long, scenic, and full of excitement. We spotted magnificent cattle, graceful deer, and playful ranch dogs along the way, making the ride even more memorable. Their expertise and hospitality made the experience enjoyable for our entire family.

Our accommodations were luxurious and full of rustic charm, blending comfort with authentic Texan flair. Waking up to the stillness and endless horizons was a dream come true.

We cannot recommend Tres Molinos Ranch enough—whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or simply a connection with nature, this place has it all. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return!

Went with my whole family & some great friends. 13 total. 6 adults, 7 kids & we had the best experience. Patrick, Crystal, their daughter & Nathan treated us so good, and were so patient teaching our kids how to ride. We rode horses, went fishing, ate at their restaurant and had the best time! Couldn’t recommend Tres Molinos enough!

Patrick was most accommodating and kind to our family. We enjoyed an amazing horseback ride and came back for fishing. We’ll be sure to be back and would recommend to friends and family in the area.

We spent the evening riding ATVs and riding horses. We had a group of 7, but we got to switch between the two as much as we wanted. Patrick was our guide and he helped us a lot throughout the trail. Definitely a place we recommend and we’ve decided to be back soon.

Fantastic family experience. Kids can get up close and personal with horses, cows, goats, donkeys, chickens, and more. The B&Bs were new and well finished and overlook one of the best views in the hill country . We rode horses, drove ATVs, fished, and went to the shooting range. Also just 30 mins from Fredericksburg.

We loved our stay at Tres Molinos! We stayed in Hill Top Glam and it was very clean and had everything we needed. Patrick took us on an amazing trail ride through the land - we learned so much! We got to play with baby goats and cows - I would 10/10 recommend!

We had an amazing time celebrating my 8 year old sons birthday. We started off with a 3 hour horse ride like I have never been on. Horses are professional trained sorting horses that respond amazing. Checked into our farmhouse that was clean and homely. Went on walks on the 100+ acres available to us, interacted with the goats, calf’s, donkeys, sheep’s and more horses, fished in the stock ponds and caught bass and perch. Had burgers and hotdogs on the grill and finished with s’mores in the fire pit. Owner Patrick was amazing and made sure we had everything we need and made himself available to us on our entire stay. Can’t wait to come back with other friends.

My 13 year old daughter and I visited Fredricksberg to shop and decided to see if we could find a hotseback trail ride while we were there! Luckily, we found Tres Molinos! I was expecting the typical “all in a line” one hour trail ride, but we quickly realized that this was going to be something more along the lines of an adventure! It was truly one of the most incredible experiences we have ever had. Patrick, the owner, spent the afternoon taking us on a tour of this beautiful ranch. We rode through all different types of terrain, saw SO many animals along the the way and got to check on some new calves as well. This was my first time on horseback and I was nervous but after about 30 minutes, I felt much more confident. His instruction is excellent (he teaches a lot along the way which was great) and the horses are super smart and well trained. All that to say, if the idea of riding horseback through acres and acres of beautiful hill country and having freedom to trot and lope sounds fun, you’ve GOT to visit Tres Molinos. It is far better than the typical trail ride and went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you again, Patrick!

We had a great visit and horseback ride here. The third generation owner of this 15,000 acre ranch conducts the rides. He is very knowledgeable and personable and takes the adventure for his guests very seriously. He shared history and ranch knowledge with the riders, and coached the less proficient of the group on the finer points of how to ride.
The horses are exceptional. They are semi-retired quarter horse cutting horses with market values between $20-40,000. The facilities are exceptional including a well-designed and constructed competition arena.
I have been enjoying trail rides since I was about seven or eight years old, and I have owned several of my own horses over time. Well I did not have the freedom that I had in writing my own horses it was One of the three best trail ride experience I have ever had. At 3 hours, it was by far the longest I have enjoyed.

Looking for an authentic horse-riding and cowboy/ranch experience? My husband and I booked a horse-riding session with Tres Molinos and had a blast!

Amazing staff: Patrick (owner and our guide) was extremely professional and personable. He made sure we had the knowledge and skills we needed and reminded us during the ride if we needed to correct our approach. Patrick has great teaching skills and even shared knowledge about the livestock, property and answered questions we had a long the way.

Authentic experience: From brushing our horses to saddling and doing some cattle round-up, we were empowered to join in and get our hands dirty. We loved the personal touch of preparing our horse to chores around the ranch. Tip: Bring boots if you are able too.

Lodging options: We absolutely look forward to the next opportunity to visit and stay. There is lodging available in a large home for 12 and three other units for accommodations for four.

Amazing resort! My husband and I went for a horse back ride and buffet. The food was very delicious and we loved the horse back riding experience. We learnt so much about how to properly ride the horses and even got to give them a bath :) It was very different from our prior experiences, I highly recommend it !

Had a great “staycation” day at Tres Molinos Ranch & Resort. There’s B&B rooms, RV hookups, fishing, & plenty of animals to entertain. (I’m pretty sure we entertained the animals, too). Patrick, the owner, will teach beginners about riding a horse. His young ranch hand, Colton, gave a great tour of the property that has been in Patrick’s family for 100 years! We highly recommend.
