What makes it fun

The Swahili word "safari" translates to "journey", which is the inspiration behind the name "Safari Winery". We are a family winery. We've been here for 6 generations. Even though Fredericksburg is our home, we've always had a passion for exploring new destinations. It's a wonderful experience that has strengthened the bond within our family and continues to do so. We established this winery with the aim of offering something unique and extraordinary. Our goal is to bring you wines from various regions across the globe, allowing you to experience a diverse range of flavors without having to travel far. We aim for our wines to foster connections and serve as a timeless reminder of life's essence!

This is not a winery. It’s a fenced in wine bar. The only animals are handing off the walls, taxidermied. Really discussing since I thought this “winery” had to do with animal preservation as in “advocacy”. Not hunting.

Make sure you see Marshall. He was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. I tried 5 different wines and loved them all. One of my favorite places for wine in Fredericksburg. These are my two favorites

Came and did a Safari tour, Awesome experience. Wine was delicious and the view spectacular. SO WORTH IT!!

I am absolutely in love with the Honey Jalapeno Hummus. You should definitely try it! The atmosphere and service are great, and there's live music too.

Wine was very unique and prolly the best of any tours we had. Our guide talked the entire time though so the other person with me and I couldn’t chat and drink our wine, which was unfortunate.

My mother and I had a lovely experience. Wine tasting was wonderful and outside was beautiful. The service was great however, Ashley needs an attitude adjustment. Just wasn’t a ray of sunshine like everyone else was. But other than that it was amazing!

A very unique tasting experience.. while the wines are not from Texas it was still really great! The place is owned by I believe to 7th generation family there in Fredricksburg. They have a love for travel and that's the concept. So the wines are designed and made in other countries for them. We brought home the Pinotage from South Africa... which is so delicious. If you like a jammy,smokey wine.. You'll love it!

This was our (my husband and myself) first time visiting this winery, and I will say I was impressed.Inside is such a cool atmosphere and nicely decorated for the Christmas holiday. We had the pleasure working with Ms. Allison, she was so nice and pleasant to work with. We did a tasting, which was great to learn their wines. Then ordered a glass for us both and bought a bottle to take home. We will definitely be going back.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Safari Winery in Fredericksburg, Texas, and it was an exceptional experience. The winery boasts a diverse and varied selection of wines, satisfying every palate. The friendly atmosphere made it a welcoming place for all, including families with kids. The addition of live music added a delightful touch to the overall ambiance. The food offerings were excellent, complementing the wine selection perfectly.I must commend our sommelier, Sarafina, whose expertise and enthusiasm enhanced our wine-tasting journey. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she contributed to making our visit memorable. All these elements combined ensure that my friends and I will undoubtedly be returning to Safari Winery for more delightful moments in the future. Cheers to a fantastic establishment!

We LOVED this place and wished we had found it earlier than 45 min til closing!!!! The tasting room is dog friendly on top of that!LINDA was so so wonderful and pleasant. We wanted to come back the next day to show her our dog but we had to leave early 😂This will be top of our list for our next Fredericksburg weekend!Indoor, outdoor, wines, and staff - all excellent.

By far the best experience of the day.The grounds are beautiful. My group and I felt like we’d stepped out of the African bush and into a wine tasting somewhere in the African plains. We really enjoyed a taste of the nations. Sarafina was very accommodating and knowledgeable without being pushy. Very different feel than the other wineries that seem to have a super competitive vibe with strict rules about tastings. Some (grape creek) wouldn’t even let us buy a bottle of wine without forcing a tasting so we left. We were hoping to enjoy a bottle back at our Airbnb at sunset. We got some Safari instead. Visited multiple wineries & the safari wine was the winner of the day! Highly recommend the Kahawa, Sweet Red, Late Harvest & Dulce.
