The wine here is fantastic! Texas and South African focused and all were winners.

    Staff is friendly and fast.

Blake the Rhino is so so so cool to see up close and it is amazing to see what the Rhinory is doing for Rhino conservation.

Stop in for the great wine, stay to save wild life~

Stopped by The Rhinory today and was seated, but unfortunately never received any service. Waited for quite a while with no one checking in, so we ended up walking out. Disappointing experience — we were really looking forward to trying the place.

Not a wine expert so not sure where it stands in terms of quality of wine, but had a great time at Rhinory with our host Heather.

If in town (Fredericksburg) around Thanksgiving/Christmas, I recommend visiting Johnson City (also a recommendation by Heather).
The city is lively at night with decoration, local celebrations and a lot of food options.

Do note, Rhinory doesn’t have any food options except the pre-packed stuff (like cheese). So probably eat before you take one of their wine samplers :)

Didn't expect to stay for a bit for a tasting, see Blake the rhinoceros, and join their wine club, but we loved the sweet wine pairing with Halloween candy and pleasant conversation with Phil. We look forward to coming out for wine club events that support a great cause.

I enjoyed this winery! I love South African wine, so this is a great place to go for that. Wine and rhino conservation? Does it get better? Definitely look into this winery on your next trip to Fredricksburg! Blake looks like he is living a great life!

Rhinory is an incredible winery, located in the Texas Hill Country! :-) There is a really wonderful backstory to the creation of this space. Per their website, "We started our rhino journey after visiting South Africa in 2016. While we were on safari, two rhinos were poached nearby. It was quite traumatic to the rangers, the patrons, and the surrounding community that relies on tourism for their local economy. Before this experience, rhino poaching was just something you heard about, not been there when it happened and can see the consequences of. Our family decided we wanted to assist rhino conservation in any way we could. We looked into importing rhinos into Texas, where they would be safe, and we could have a “reserve population” if rhinos are poached to extinction in Africa. Bringing them to a private reserve is more complicated than we imagined. We needed money and land to support that effort, so we hatched the idea of combining a winery with our desire to save rhinos.”

This reserve is absolutely beautiful. The space surrounding the winery is serene + stunning. They have an indoor & outdoor bar, and the staff manning these areas are really kind + open about sharing the conservation work that is done through the Rhinory. In terms of seating, they have a great indoor space, in addition to an outdoor patio + lots of picnic tables and benches available under the campus' large trees. In terms of their product, their wine is really delicious, and there is a great selection available! I highly recommend visiting this spot - it's so, so wonderful and absolutely worth the stop!

An incredible experience- Blake the rhino is magnificent and lives in a beautiful area. The keepers love what they do, and the owners truly love conservation. And the wine is good! Totally recommend this place. We WILL be back.

Such a memorable experience at Rhinory!
We enjoyed a peaceful wine tasting while watching the rhino roam nearby — such a unique and calming setting. 🦏🍷

The wine was genuinely good — smooth, well-balanced, and clearly crafted with care. We especially appreciated the friendly staff who guided us through the tasting with great recommendations. Ended up taking home a couple of bottles we loved!

Sipping wine with a view of a rhino? Definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. Highly recommend for animal lovers and wine enthusiasts alike!

Highly recommend making this winery a must stop! The owner and staff were so welcoming. I love that they focus on rhino conservation. But, the wine was the best I tasted all day!!! They truly care about the quality and taste of wine they are putting out. Love love love. Will be back

This winery was an absolute gem — beautiful views, delicious wines, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The tasting experience felt personal and thoughtfully curated, with each pour better than the last. What truly set it apart, though, was the owner, who went out of their way to make us feel at home and share the story behind every bottle. You can tell they genuinely care about both the wine and the people who come to enjoy it.

Had the full show of why rhinos and wine go together! I’d add video but that’s an option. Lol. Hope they found him and gf.

My girl friends and I did a signature tasting and it was amazing! We had Matt as our server, and he was so great! He was knowledgeable not only on the wine we tasted but more importantly about the rhino, Blake, they have on site! 20% of wine bottle purchases go to rhino conservation, and 100% of merchandise purchases go to rhino conservation! Loved this place too much!

The Rhinory is a unique winery with an awesome conservation story behind its founding. You get to see Blake the resident Southern White Rhino while enjoying your favorite glass of wine. I am not a Pinot Noir drinker, though I've drank my fair share, but their Keras Collection South Africa Pinot Noir is absolutely fantastic and instantly became my favorite Pinot Noir! If you buy two bottles, the Rhinory include two Rhinory branded wine glasses to take home. It is a must stop for all wine lovers. We visited during Thanksgiving week 2024 and there was heavy road construction along Hwy 290, so it is easy to miss the entrance.

The Rhinory was a wonderful experience! Blake is adorable, unique experience to be so close to a White Rhino! Our host, Greg, was very knowledgeable and personable. We had an amazing time, we’ll be back for sure!

Made a reservation with this winery. When we walked in we received a welcome taste. Went out to see the Rhino and came back to the bar to grab some wine. Nobody made eye contact with us as they kept helping other guest. Finally was able to flag a server down and say we had a reservation for wine tasting. We were given glasses and sat at a table and told the server would be right with us. We waited another 15 minutes as nobody came to service us before walking out. I mentioned to the same server who sat us that we were leaving and I did not wanted to be charged for this as a card was required to make the reservation. She then goes "oh no, are you sure, I can personally serve your party......"
If that was the case then she should have just served us in the first place. This was the same server who avoided making eye contact at the bar.
    Very disappointing

Visited Rhinory Vineyard Saturday, November 16th and had a lovely time. The staff was kind and attentive (even offered blankets if we needed them). The view was beautiful. “Blake” was fascinating to meet. And, the ambience was perfect!! But, the “cherry on top” was David Bradbury, their sommelier. He took time and visited our table. His knowledge, professionalism, and passion for the industry was extraordinary!! He is a true gem! Thank you, Rhinory Vineyard for a wonderfully, memorable day!

Beautiful vineyard with a rhino called Blake in the backyard. Lot of space for kids to run around while we sip wine under the huge trees. We visited in end of April and the weather was so pleasant.

Great wine, beautiful venue, excellent service. Saving the rhinos is admirable, but the rhino in the yard is primarily a marketing prop. Nothing wrong with that. .it works! Here's an idea: establish a winery dedicated to saving pre-born babies whose mothers are considering abortion.

Really great wine with awesome knowledgeable staff. Blake, the Rhino is so sweet. Their save the Rhino mission is a very nobel and worthy cause. David, the winemaker is one of the best, he is so talented with his craft. This is a must see and experience.

Our favorite winery of the day. We booked a little last minute so couldn’t do the tour w Blake (the Rhino). Instead we got a table with Heather inside & it was wonderful. We were still able to go out and see Blake & enjoy the delicious wine. Heather was so knowledgeable about not only the wines but also about Blake & their entire purpose. I was in the restaurant/bar industry for 17 yrs and sadly majority of the time I’m feeling empathic with staff VS being impressed. Not the case! It’s definitely on our go to list now!

When I think of AMAZING customer service and personalized experience, I will now associate that with the Rhinory. The service was just something you don’t get very often anymore! The wine tasting here was our favorite out of all the wineries we visited! Make sure you request Matt, he made our visit so fun and unique!! Mary also, had so much great information to share with us on their Rhino Blake, that we are now Rhino enthusiast and will now be looking in to how to give back to the conservation to the species! Definitely one of the best wineries I have visited to date!! If you are in the are you cannot leave without visiting them!
