My sweet partner discovered Onera and surprised me with a few nights stay over my birthday weekend — and wow, what a majestic place! I think my entire nervous system reset during our stay here. The communal pools, hot tub, and sauna tucked beneath the sprawling, ancient live oak tree felt like pure magic — easily the heart of our whole experience. We spent nearly all our time there, completely in awe, doing endless back and forth rotations of cold plunge into hot tub for hours. We were shocked no other guests seemed to be using these amenities, so it truly felt like a secret little sanctuary all to ourselves.
Everything in our unit felt fresh, clean, and brand new. We loved the robes, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. My only note is that for a place so immaculately designed by vibe and ambiance, there were no small lamps in the unit — it was either big overhead light or darkness. I ended up buying a small lamp at dollar general! I did get giddy excited about the Nespresso machine and enjoyed sipping my morning coffee while strolling around the peaceful property, admiring the architecture of all the different structures.
Onera is the perfect place to unwind, reset, and reconnect — with nature, with yourself, with someone you love. It’s so quiet and immersive that you forget you’re a mile from the highway. We thought we’d spend more time bopping around town or checking out wineries during our time in Fredericksburg, but instead we quickly found ourselves wanting nothing more than to pick up a couple bottles of wine and savor them in the serene environment of Onera!
I wish we could have stayed for so many more days. It was an unforgettable escape — a true gift, and a place I look forward to returning to soon!
