We take great pride in our family-owned and -operated restaurant and bakery, where we meticulously craft all of our food using authentic German recipes passed down through generations. Our menu showcases a delectable array of dishes, including Authentic German pancakes, European pastries, and freshly baked bread served daily. Our owner, Lutz, has an extensive background in German baking, with 20 years of experience before he came to the United States in 1998 to take over the Old German Bakery in Fredericksburg.

In Fredericksburg for a few days of relaxation and my husband and I decided to try this place for breakfast. Soooo glad we did! First, I want to shout out this family that sat across from us. We had a wonderful conversation. They were there before us. However when they left the server told us that our breakfast was covered!!!! What a blessing! I'm so sorry I can't remember their names but we thank them so much!! On another note, the food was fantastic! My husband had the biscuits with German sausage gravy topped with poached eggs (not pictured), and I had an omelet with ham, potatoes, tomatoes, and cheese We also had a German pancake. Everything was so good!! We can't wait to come back when we're in town. Thanks for the great service and food. Our server was great as well.

Breakfast is out of this world. The pastries? Absolutely divine. Our service was top notch - had the best lady there (I might be biased)! If you’re in town, you must stop and indulge. You won’t be disappointed.

The bakery was pretty good. The roast beef I got from the restaurant was really bad, it was sososo dry.

Delicious foods with plenty of choices! Their pastries are also very good! I got a cinnamon stick, peach Danish, and Nutella puff, all of them are absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!!!

I had the two egg breakfast plate and a peach and cream cheese Danish with hot coffee. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the warmed Danish was a special treat that I highly recommend. I will try the German pancakes next time. The restrooms were busy, but everyone was friendly about taking turns.

We stopped by after the eclipse and it was really busy. And still they sat our group of eight fairly quickly.

We occupied two tables one for the adults and one for the kids. The kids got their own kid server who did a great job getting the beverages, crayons and etch-a-scetch to occupy the children.

The kids all enjoyed their food.

Us adults ordered a variety of things. Giant pretzel 🥨 and fried green tomatoes. Both very delicious. The mustard was a stand out.

The mains also impressed. We ordered mostly from the German food options and those were all great. We loved the sauerkraut and the braised red cabbage. The sauerbraten and Jägerschnitzel were equally tasty.

The only things that were disappointing were the biscuit and gravy and the German potato salad. The biscuit was nothing special and the gravy was flavorless. Would not order again. The potato salad was too sweet.

On the way out we grabbed a pumpernickel and some pastries from the bakery. All of which was delicious.

Worth the 25min wait on Sunday! We hopped in line with 23 2-people parties ahead of us at 10am. I got the croissant with bacon, husband got the schnitzel, a sausage on the side, and coffees. The portions were great, service was quick, and everything you could want in a breakfast. So glad we stayed in line!
