What makes it fun

The 330-acre Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park is the recreational park in Fredericksburg that is considered to be the city's most prized possession. The scene was set for a magnificent day with the undulating hills and the meandering Live Oak Creek. It is a place to take a break, unwind, and appreciate the natural surroundings. There are five pavilions that can accommodate a variety of events, including weddings, birthday celebrations, class and family reunions, school field excursions, and more. The baseball and softball fields can either be reserved or used for impromptu games at any time. There is both an outdoor basketball court and a sand volleyball court available for use. No matter the size of your gathering or the event you're planning, the park has a stunning location to offer.

The best nature trail!

It is a charming urban forest with short hiking trails. There is a park adjacent with picnic tables, playground, campsite, huge dog run and very clean toilets. Frederickburg Airport is in the immediate vicinity. For me it was interesting to watch the little planes take off or land. All in all, it's worth a visit.

A good place to spend the Sunny afternoon, one can fish, picnic, or read a book, or just walk. Enjoy the fresh air.

My first time staying in a RV (rental) and at a RV park so I don’t have anything to really compare to but, if you love airplanes, it’s the place to stay in Fredericksburg. Right next to airport with lots of small and sometimes interesting aircraft traffic. Pretty much directly across from the Hangar Hotel and the Airport Diner and I highly recommend both.

Nice big park. Has plenty of parking and sitting/picnic areas. RV park, golf course, playgrounds, walking trails... There is a pool, but it had a sign that said it was closed for the season. Pets are allowed but not in the pool area. There is also a little garden you can walk through. There are also some indoor recreational areas but they were also closed. (August) we brought our dog for a day trip and hoping to find a new place for him to explore. I'd say we found it.

Great golf excursion. Staff was incredible. The course was in good shape. There were 2 temporary greens, but they were well defined and maintained.

Great municipal park. We camped here for a week, enjoyed a short nature trail, and had lunch at the Red Bird Cafe/Golf clubhouse. We could see the planes taking off and landing from our campsite. The park has many other amenities.

What a great nature walk!!! I'm here in Fall it must be incredible in spring. Don't let the ordinary appearance from the parking lot deter you! Head on in!

There are several loops, different terrain and topography. We saw deer and turtles. The bird blind was great. All of the Eagle Scout project gardens are wonderful. Its so peaceful.

The QR trails on the trail to tell you about the plants and terrain are fantastic.

We had a really enjoyable hour and a half or so just wandering the trails. I'm coming back in spring to check it out again!
