Great little Thai place. Locally owned and operated, good soup and chicken. Definitely stop in if your looking for Thai!

I really wanted to like this place, but it just wasn’t a favorite. The menu seemed inventive, exciting, and diverse. The service was fine. The prices were, admittedly, surprisingly high but also understandable because of location. The beef and broccoli stir fry that my husband ordered was delicious, though not at all spicy even with the level 3 hot distinction. If you decide to dine, I recommend skipping the pad Thai altogether. I’ve eaten a great deal of it over the years (and all over the country), and there was an indiscernible and very forward flavor that I just couldn’t get past. It was distracting and unpleasant. The kids chicken was very wet when cut into and just didn’t make us feel very comfortable with it being fully cooked. Overall, I would likely not go back. If I were to dine again, I would stick to a stir fry and maybe try one of the appetizers.

I am a huge Thai food fan and I was hoping this place in Hye would be good. Unfortunately, I left very disappointed. The staff was friendly and the service was fast but the food was very disappointing. The fresh tofu spring rolls were dripping because of the picked carrots and radish. The dipping sauce was not very good but was needed since the spring rolls themselves were bland. The chicken pad thai was not edible. It was extremely salty and there were only a few pieces of chicken. The noodles were cooked well but I don't know how anyone could eat the dish when it is as salty as it is. They may have other dishes that are better but based on this experience, I would not go back.

Decided to give this place a try because I love Thai food. Unfortunately, this was not very good. Fresh rolls with tofu were a bit bland. Sauce for dipping was not very good. The pad Thai was very, very salty. I wasn't able to eat more than a few bites. I had it with chicken and there were just a few chunks which was a bit disappointing. Noodles were cooked well, however. Service was good. Server was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was just ok.

Absolutely awesome food! Loved! Loved! Loved the curry fried rice with fried chicken Level 3 on the spice. Not too spicy but just enough to make you have a sweat. I highly recommend this place!

I really enjoyed the curry fried rice. The wife felt there was too much lime in the pad Thai and not enough peanut. We used the peanut sauce from the fresh rolls and she enjoyed it. The service was amazing!

I made reservations for @covingtoncellars last Sunday and was looking for a place to have lunch. @hyethaitx is close by so we thought to have lunch before wine tasting.@hyethaitx is family-owned and run by John, his wife, and his son as the chef. They started in 2019 and recently moved to their Stonewall location. Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had Green Tea, and I had Happy Dad Pineapple Seltzer. We started with the Fried Spring Rolls and Papaya Salad. We had Crispy Fried Chicken, Crying Tiger, and Pad Thai with shrimp. Everything was very flavorful and tasty except the Crying Tiger meat was a bit chewy. This was a gem of a find in the area. There was so much food, we had leftovers. If you’re in the Hye, Stonewall, or Fredericksburg areas, definitely stop by.

I've loved this place since it was a food truck, and their brick-and-mortar location is even better offering a comfortable environment and bigger menu. I wish I'd taken a photo of the Crying Tiger Ribeye before I started eating, so excuse the messy presentation. This was soooooo delicious! I recommend literally anything from this kitchen. It's the best Thai food I've ever had.

A hidden gem, Hye Thai takes the lead in a trio of tucked in eateries along the sleepy stretch of Hwy 290 in Stonewall, Texas. Having been drawn in by Chocolates El Rey's signage, one is pleasantly surprised to find Hye Thai a couple of doors down, with an Italian Creamery nestled in between. Food was excellently prepared with subtle combinations of spices and seasonings, ordered to your desired 'hotness' level. Proportions were generous, especially for the lunch hour. The owner and staff were congenial, and it's clear that the locals enjoyed having this culinary delight in their midst! A must stop...next time, we'll leave room for that Italian Ice next door!

As promised, we made a trip out to Hye Thai located in Stonewall Texas. This cozy restaurant is part of a trio of snuggled eateries in Stonewall: Chocolates El Rey, Oro Bianco Italian Creamy, and of course Hye Thai. Definitely a one-stop for food and deserts. The inside of Hye Thai is quaint and well decorated, and outside is a very large patio area shaded by stout oak trees dressed in string lights. We had the Pad Thai with Chicken and Tofu with Moderate Spice, and our children ate the Curry Chicken Fried Rice. Wow – these dishes were simply the best! You must stop here for lunch – it’s the perfect trio! Make sure you stop by this restaurant during your vac-cay!
