The chocolate wine pairing was hands down the highlight of our trip! Dan was very informative and the experience was immensely enjoyable. The chocolate itself is exquisite! I am so glad they offer online orders because I would have a hard time without that option since we live 5 hours away. Thank you for offering such an excellent experience!

We made our monthly trip up to Fredericksburg to hit the wineries yesterday and had some time to kill before dinner so we stopped by. It was an amazing experience. Dan was AWESOME! He was extremely knowledgeable (very talented Chocolatier), very attentive (w/o being pushy) and just a pleasure to speak to. Not only were the chocolates some of the best we've ever had anywhere, but Dan's company made it a memorable experience. He taught us so much about their product and the process involved in making their fine chocolates. From now on, instead of heading into town or spending an hour at the Circle E factory (my wife is a Circle E freak), we're going to make a stop at Hill Country Chocolate part of our routine. I cannot recommend this place enough!

We recently had some friends from Taiwan visiting, so I looked for something special in the Hill Country. I booked the “Premier Wine and Chocolate Experience” for our group.

Dan, one of the owners took us upstairs where they had set up for us. We were stopped in our tracks when we saw what was awaiting us, just amazing! The chocolate assortment was incredible, and turned out to be incredibly delicious custom made gourmet chocolates, that would rival the best chocolates found in Europe.

I have to say in all honesty, that it was a fantastic value, I could not have picked a better place. Also, perfect for special occasions such as a wedding anniversary.

Our thanks to Dan and staff for a wonderful experience!

If you’re in Fredericksburg for a for the weekend, this is a MUST! We stopped by with a group of 8 after 2 wineries had said they didn’t have time for us and it was the best part of the entire weekend. The owner Dan was there and made our wedding party feel so special, telling us about all of the chocolates and how they make them. Their team is so sweet, the wine and chocolates were phenomenal, and their customer service was superb.

Legit our favorite stop in all of the area. If you are looking for the most amazing chocolates with a staff that's is extremely knowledgeable, look to Dan the man and his staff. We will definitely be back!

A Sweet Visit Driven by Passion! 🍫✨
Just had the most delightful experience at Hill Country Chocolate! It's always a treat to visit a place where the owner's passion for their craft shines through every single product. Don is very knowledgeable and happy to share samples and stories of product development too!
The caramel popcorn was a revelation, with a surprising and delicious hint of cumin—truly unique! And the pairing of Lambrusco with the salted caramel was absolutely perfect. All the staff are friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend stopping by for an exceptional treat!

Whenever we go on vacation anywhere I always google, "best chocolate in ___" and make a point to put that on our itinerary. I was not expecting to find such an upscale chocolate boutique in Fredericksburg, TX but boy was I delighted!

The storefront is about a 10 minute drive from the town center and we popped in on Saturday afternoon on our way back from a winery. Upon entering the staff asked if it was our first time and when we told her yes she said they would bring out some chocolate to sample. The chocolatier himself brought out a little board of chocolates for us to sample. Dan was so friendly and enthusiastic about his products answering any questions we had and bringing out additional samples of things he thought we might like.

We ended up buying a box of truffles and bonbons to take home with us along with a couple of the macarons. Truly impressed with the service and selection and will recommend to any friends heading to Fredericksburg.

This is an absolute must try in Fredricksburg. Forget the fact that the Chocolate is amazing. But the staff and experiences available are unreal! Can’t wait to return. And thank you hill country!

Cute place! We bought an assortment of chocolates. I bought a really interesting selection of flavors. Only part way through it, but really enjoying them! The Mexican Hot Chocolate flavor was spot on with a nice kick to it!

Loved the bottle display at the front entrance.

Perfect place if you love chocolate. I visited this lovely place with my husband for our 2 years anniversary, and have a good memory there. We were greeted by the owner, he gave us lots of chocolate samples and wines. Every piece of chocolate here is a work of arts. The tastes are unique, and I guarantee you can’t find any where else. My favorite is raspberry chocolate, dark chocolate turtle ( can’t remember exact name), hot Mexican, coffee truffles, and the crunchy caramel (again I can’t remember the name). The owner/chef were friendly and very knowledgeable, making us feel comfortable. I ended up with over $100 of chocolates, but it is all worth it. I for sure will come back 🥰🥂

Dr. Dan was so hospitable that I wanted to buy the whole store. He’s so proud of his family and talks about them when he’s serving the chocolates and it made me feel so invited and important. Everyone should visit because my mom, sister and I just left smiling. Thank you Dr. Dan, I will be coming back to Texas just to stop at your wine and chocolate shop.

Got to stop by on the way out of town and so glad we did. The attention to detail and the handcrafted in house chocolate, made it all feel so luxury and quality. The owner was friendly and came out to greet us. We had the coffee truffles and wish we got more! We will definitely be coming back!

This is a must-stop experience!! Dan & his team are absolutely amazing - such incredible hospitality was extended, they're so friendly and everyone was extremely passionate about the experience they provide. The chocolate tasting was delicious, and the pairing of recommend wines was perfect. We walked away with chocolates & wine, very happy & having had an incredible afternoon. I can’t recommend Hill Country Chocolates more! Dan and his staff have created the perfect experience visiting a chocolate factory, and paired excellent wines with each of their chocolates. Our chocolate and wine tasting experience at Hill Country Chocolate was the absolute highlight of our trip to Fredericksburg! These chocolates are INSANELY AWESOME. Seriously ... in all my travels, I've not had better. And the wine pairings were PERFECT. My advice? Don't miss out!
