Had association meeting in Officers Club. Margaritas average but expensive. Snacks were good.

We love the Hanger Hotel. Situated right on the tarmac of the Gillespie County Airport, you can watch aircraft arrive and depart to your heart's content. Entering the Hanger Hotel is a step back into time, as it's designed to resemble WW2 Army Air Corps officers' quarters. The decor, the painting scheme, even the tile work in reminiscent of military billets. There is aircraft memorabilia everywhere, from parts to photos to models on tables. The front desk is a wraparound wooden bar straight out of a movie set, complete with mail cubbies and hat racks. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with leather chairs, which you simply sink into after a long day of flying or visiting the many wineries surrounding the town. The bar is aptly named "The Officers Club" and overlooks the flight line. The layout and decor will have you looking for Army Air Corps pilots in leather jackets and "mission crushed" caps. Next door is the diner, filled with chrome and a vibrant red and black 40s diner motif. The food is great and very reasonably priced (open for breakfast and lunch only).Please note that the Hanger Hotel is an adult-focused hotel. Families with kids should look elsewhere.

We flew in and stayed there with some friends who recommended we stay there. They allowed early check-in for us, which was nice. The hotel is aviation themed and a throwback to the 1940s, which was tastefully done. Uber can get you into town for what Fredericksburg has to offer. They had a Buddy Holly event that weekend that we attended at their dance hall, which was fun and well run. Also, if you can get reservations, try the Cabernet Grille across the street from the airport for a fantastic meal at dinner.

Right on the airfield. Walking in is like stepping into the 1940s. If you like history, I would highly recommend staying here!

Hangar Hotel is great! I love the retro 40s feel, while still having super comfortable beds. It’s fun to go to the diner and watch the private planes in the morning. The hotel also has a great throwback bar for the evening!

A wonderful hotel near the Pacific War museum and charming Fredricksburg filled with friendly people and actual WWII items!!! I was geeking out the entire time, and in addition, it was cozy with a nice diner, live music, and comfy beds. Thanks so much for the great experiance!!!!😊😊

Such a unique, and fantastic way to stay! We enjoy flying in and having nearby accommodations and dining, with the huge bonus of getting to watch other planes. Very active airport with several neat planes coming in and out

We have had a fun overnight trip. If you want to have fun and stay in a little back in time and be nostalgia this is the place. They do have a flat screen tv but don’t expect a refrigerator or a kitchenette. The bathrooms are nice but don’t expect fancy. Don’t expect all the modern amenities like a pool, workout room or business center. If you want to make phone call on an old time phone this is the place for you. You can watch the planes coming and going in the airport diner. Eat a good homestyle meal in the diner. On the weekend you may want to relax and have a drink in the officer club and if you are lucky you may have some fun live music. While you are in the officers club you may want to play a game of pool or have a friendly competition of chess. This is a great place to leave the electronics at home and go back to the days when people actually talk to each other. We had a fabulous trip and will be back.
