What makes it fun
The Fredericksburg Art Guild was established in 1971 by the renowned artist and instructor, John McClusky. He started the Guild above Dooley's Store on Main Street, where he offered weekly art lessons. Mr. McClusky dedicatedly supervised his Guild students until his passing in 1994. Mr. McClusky's artwork serves as a lasting reminder of our origins and a source of inspiration to keep exploring and expressing ourselves. In 2003, the Guild moved to its present location at 308 E. Austin Street, which is conveniently situated across from the entrance of the Nimitz Pacific War Museum on Austin Street. In 2006, the Guild achieved its current 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
